What the evidence shows

Strong evidence supports its registered medical indications (such as genuine growth-hormone deficiency). Evidence does not support general anti-ageing or performance use, which is not an approved indication.

Safety & reported risks

Even in clinical use it requires monitoring for effects such as fluid retention, joint symptoms and glucose changes. Non-medical use is both higher-risk and tightly restricted; it is prohibited in sport.
